As a result of this year’s dry summer, a wooden structure of unknown origin emerged from the Morava near the Slavonic fortification, a national treasure in Mikulčice. The object was cleaned, located and photogrammetrically documented. Samples were taken for dendrochronological analysis. It is assumed that the structure could be part of a device that served the handling and transport of timber from the Liechtenstein forests in the 19th century. Research into this and other wooden structures in the Morava will continue.
